Crash Courses
A-Level Chemistry requires a level of understanding and exam skills that are markedly differently from the O-Levels, especially for H2 Chemistry. As such, it is extremely important to make time, amidst the slew of social and CCA activities that are an integral part of JC life, to lock down concepts before it gets too overwhelming. The June holidays is one such period of time when you can take advantage of the premium A-Level Chemistry tuition services that Chemistry Domus provides.
There are three separate offerings for H2 Chemistry tuition during the June holidays:
The first two courses are designed to help students fully understand the key topics of JC Chemistry, which are primarily Physical Chemistry topics including Chemical Bonding, Energetics, Kinetics, and Equilibria, as well as the Chemistry of Aqueous Solutions.
These topics lay the foundation for why elements and compounds appear as well as behave the way they do. A good understanding of these topics is necessary for students to develop an intuitive sense of how and why certain reactions occur, and why others don't.
Besides Physical Chemistry topics, the other big topic for JC Chemistry is Organic Chemistry. The crash course for organic chemistry will be offered as a separate module, and will aim to develop skills in recognising fundamental driving forces in organic reactions, and therefore predict the kinds of reactions that different compounds will undergo. There will also be a separate question bootcamp where the focus is on drilling through, and internalising the strategies for, the main types of Organic Chemistry exam questions.

JC1 June Crash Course
This course will cover the topics taught during the first two terms of JC1, and are crucial for JC1 students preparing for their promotional exams. It is important to ensure that foundational topics are mastered before new topics are added on rapidly in term 3.
During the 2-hr tutorial sessions, students will work through specially selected questions. Chung will ensure that concepts and exam skills are mastered, while students can also clear any doubts right on the spot!
Time Commitment
Students who are signing up for this course should be prepared to spend about 5 to 6 hrs per topic (including the 2-hr in-person tutorial time):

Students will be expected to watch 1.5 to 2 hrs of videos for each of the topics before class. As they watch the videos, they will go through between 8 to 12 questions that will help them review key concepts and skills related to the topic. Total time required to watch the videos and do all the question will be between 3 to 4 hrs that ideally should be spread across two days. A suggested schedule will be provided to help students manage their time.

Students will then attend the 2-hr in-person tutorials. Chung will first clear any questions they have from the videos and review notes, and then continue to drill questions to lock down key concepts and skills.
Fees

Students can sign up for individual topics at $100 per topic (one 2-hr in-person tutorial, plus at least another 2 hrs of on-demand video lectures). That is equivalent to a total of 4 hrs of content time per topic.

$280 (7% discount) if student signs up for all THREE 2-hr lessons.

A $50 non-refundable deposit will be collected (by PayNow/ PayLah / bank transfer) at the time of registration. This will be applied to the course fees on completion of the registered lessons. The balance of the fees will be collected (by PayNow/ PayLah / bank transfer) one day before the start of the first lesson.

Fees are non-refundable, and there will not be a possibility of make-up classes for the crash courses. If a student cannot attend a lesson for good reason, they will be allowed to make-up the lesson during one of the regular 2-hr lessons. This should be completed before the end of July 2021, or the fees for the missed lesson will be forfeited.
JC2 June Crash Course
This crash course plus workshop is great for students looking to lock down their foundations, as well as get personalised instruction from Chung on the presentation of working and answers.
During the 2-hr tutorial sessions, students will work through specially selected questions. Chung will ensure that concepts and exam skills are mastered, while students can also clear any doubts right on the spot!
